One of our favorite things about visiting college campuses around the country — besides getting to meet so many of our yakkers! — is hearing about how you use Yik Yak, what you love about it, and what dream features you’re itching to see added.
Well, great news! We have lots of fun new things up our sleeve, and we’re super excited to introduce some of them to you in the months ahead. Some features will go through a “beta” period, where we try something with just a few communities for a short amount of time as we strive to create the best experience possible.
And we’re testing one of these currently: the ability for you to add a picture to your yak. Whether it’s that moment when your team dunked the winning 3-point shot, a mysterious-looking motorcade that you’ve spotted on campus, or just about the worst dining hall meal you’ve ever seen, we know there’s a ton of visuals you’d love to share with your community.
So for a short while, we’re letting a handful of campuses help us test out this ability and give us feedback. Here’s how it works:
- Each submitted picture will be moderated before it appears, so expect a delay before you see your image hit the feed.
- No faces. No nude shots. No inappropriate or illegal behavior. ‘Nuff said.
- You’ll need to take a photo from within the app; no adding from your camera roll.
If you’re one of the herds who see this beta appear for a short amount of time, thanks for trying it out — and have fun! (We’d love to hear what you think too, so please send us your feedback!) Everyone else, please sit tight for now.
We don’t have any plans to roll pictures out app-wide yet, but we’re excited to bring y’all a lot more great new things in the coming months.
