Meet the Interns Part 2

It’s almost that time of year again. Summer is coming to an end, and the interns are finishing up projects and preparing for their final presentations. As much as we hate to see them leave, we’re so lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know each and every one of them.

There have been many laughs, nerf gun battles, and lessons learned throughout the past twelve weeks, and we can only hope they’ve enjoyed their time here as much as we’ve enjoyed having them.

With that being said, I’d like to introduce you all to David, Scooter, and Kathleen.

David Chao, Product Intern

Q. Where are you currently going to school and what are you studying?

A.  I go to Morehouse College and I’m studying marketing.

Q. Where’s your favorite place to hang out while you’re at school?

A. Many times we all get together at friend’s place or one of the surrounding shops around the city.

Q. Why did you want to intern at Yik Yak?

A. I’m a huge technology nerd with an entrepreneurial spirit. I wanted to work at a start up where my work would be actually beneficial to the product, and work in an environment where the team would be small enough where we could build some rapport.

Q. What kind of projects are you working on?

A.  I’ve worked on a good bit projects. I’ve gone out in the field to get feedback from college students on upcoming features. It was eye-opening to see how everything at Yik Yak is made for the users, not just for fun.

I’ve also been able to create a weekly video series involving the Yak with some fellow interns and people around the office. That has been a blast as well!

Q. Who’s your favorite co-worker at Yik Yak and why?

A.  Oh, don’t make me pick! I have to say Joe is up there in my book! He’s about a year older than me, and it’s inspiring to see him doing what he loves at such a young age and really contributing in a big way on so many levels. He’s also a really cool guy; we’ve had several great conversations, and I appreciate that.

Q. What’s the coolest part about interning at Yik Yak?

A. It’s cool to be in an environment where people pushing themselves to produce a great product every day. The job perks are also awesome. Free lunch is great!

Q. If there were one song you had to listen to for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A. I think I could listen to ‘Real’ by Years & Years for the rest of my life. If you haven’t heard the song, it’s time to go listen!
