Why I Yak: Episode 4

Happy Thursday Yakkers! Yik Yak is a great place because of the communities and people that are on it, and I want you to meet some of the authentic, awesome, and thoughtful folks that make Yik Yak what it is. Without further adieu, I introduce you to Cosette, Abhishek, Nicholas, and Allissa.

Cosette (Stony Brook University)

Cosette, 20, is a Spanish and journalism double major. She uses Yik Yak to stay updated on her commute, but also enjoys the more lighthearted side of Yik Yak.

"Yik Yak is always my go-to app because it always makes me laugh or smile. One time someone posted a photo of ice cream and a caption saying "who would like to say grace?" The comments were so hilarious. Whenever I need to laugh throughout my day, Yik Yak is always the first app that I scroll through."

Abhishek (University of Texas at Austin)

Abishek is a 19 year old electrical and computer engineering major with a great sense of humor.

"I Yak because I'm always looking for a good laugh, prank, or joke."

Nicholas (University of South Florida)

Nicholas, 20, is a secondary education major and uses Yik Yak to get more involved on campus.

"I yak for feedback so I can go on campus and get the inside track to get involved with events and groups that give back. Getting involved on campus and making new connections is essential to becoming a successful student and Yik Yak helps with that."

Allissa (Thiel College)

Alissa studies sociology, theology, and youth ministry at Thiel College. The 20 year old is super involved on campus and uses Yik Yak to tell people about what's going on.

"I yak because it helps me spread the word about events that are going on on-campus. I am in a sorority and it helps us tell the campus about events we put on to support our philanthropy, such as bingo and game nights. It also gives me an opportunity to support the other Greek organizations on campus because they also use it to share their events."

Why do you yak? Send us a photo that tells us what Yik Yak means to you!
