The month of October is filled with so much excitement. College football is in full swing, leaves are changing colors and in perfect crunch condition, there’s candy on every aisle in the grocery store. Baseball has reached it’s peak, basketball is just beginning, and the temperature is finally cool enough for those festive flannels. But October is about more than these fun-filled autumn activities; October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month and for many of our Yakkers that means a lot more than the fall festivities.
At the start of October, we opened a dialogue with Yakkers to learn what this month means to them. From being proud of friends and family who are survivors to feeling comfort from all of the support this month brings, Yakkers are passionate about being supportive to their loved ones who have been impacted, as well as working to better understand ways to reduce risk.
